Once again, I’m considering solar panels. Does anyone here have panels, but regrets it? Are you still receiving bills from your local electrical provider? If financing, how long is your loan for, does your loan match your old electrical bills or are you saving money while financing ? Thanks! 🙂

Of note I recently had a Generac standby generator installed though Lowe’s. That was $14k.

My in-laws have them. I don't know all the details, but they definitely saved money and have no regrets.

I've had panels for years. Never regretted installing them.

Our loan was for 10 years, and we're currently not paying an electrical bill because we have a net metering agreement, so I get a credit for the power produced by the panels. My last bill was -$39.00, I think.

We also have a water-harvesting system, and we landscaped the whole acreage to basically either store or capture water. Now, most of my work is repairing old stuff, but that's been pretty easy. I did have to repair a french drain that collapsed that sent water from a dump-out to this dwarfish desert willow. But, I suspect the dogs had a hand in that one.

One note, really ask around about the installers. Most are really good, but some installation companies are managed by idiots.
