NYT is almost assuredly getting overwhelmed with comments about how they were complicit in this electoral fiasco. They moderate them, but I think when it gets too much, they just turn them off.Despite efforts to distract and console myself, I still care too much right now and am infuriated the mainstream media practically obliterated our likelihood of remembering anything from the Biden administration except the Trump-centric highlights of that timeframe.
How weird to feel like Trump just won a f'g third term in office...
Laughing now in spite of myself, because I see the NYT has already had enough sense to drastically shorten the time in which they leave comments sections open. Tidying up for how they'll handle Trump 2.0 I guess. Too bad for The Snug. Whatever I might have vented in NYT comments might land here instead going forward.
Meanwhile along lines of trying not to care too much, I'm vowing to make more use of my PBS Passport and Film Movement apps. And not documentaries either, unless maybe about music and dance.
The future hasn’t been written yet; I hope things won’t be as bad as our worst fears.Like some of you, I've decided I will skip a lot of TV news for the next four years (with the exception of The Dailly Show), and get my news online where if I want to I can quickly skip having to look at that braying jackass's face or reading his deranged blatherings.
Fuck, if I could be put into suspended animation for four years like Buck Rogers and wake up when it's all over, I would. 😡
A perfect example of this: David French wrote a column about “Two Huge Problems Harris Could Nof Escape”Despite efforts to distract and console myself, I still care too much right now and am infuriated the mainstream media practically obliterated our likelihood of remembering anything from the Biden administration except the Trump-centric highlights of that timeframe.

I have wanted PBS Passport for years. Maybe after I sell the house if I have anything left. So many good shows.Meanwhile along lines of trying not to care too much, I'm vowing to make more use of my PBS Passport and Film Movement apps. I will say one thing in favor of this. On election night, I went to bed pretty early. Then when I woke up, I just got one dose of bad news instead of worrying about it all night and still not having an answer.Oh and @Thomas Veil, your suspended animation idea sounds brilliant.
Holding a good thought for you, and surely hope the time with rehab-provided PT will get your mobility improved! What the heck do they serve for Thanksgiving in hospital, if you're still there at that point? I hope they make an effort that turns out successful. My definition there excludes Jell-O and imagines halfway decent pie. Keep them in line while you're there. Customer always right, etc. Believe it, teach it. 💕 🥳hi all, hope this finds you well.
i'm at UCLA Santa Monica hospital. i've suffered a series of strokes so please forgive any typos my right side of brain is affected plus a blood clot in my brain that should eventually dissolve. but i's going to take awhile for my brain to rewire itself. I can't move my left arm and leg. next step is to send me to rehab for PT. I'm out if ICU and now in a step down ward. mIss you all but at least Gaetz won't be around. YAY. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and don't get too fat.
Miss you too, you will be in our thoughts….hi all, hope this finds you well.
