Pro Publica reports on this guy who independently infiltrated the Oath Keepers. A great summary as to who not to trust American police:

Kinch grew up in upstate New York, the son of a World War II veteran who had him at about 50. When Kinch was young, he confided in a later recording, he was a “wheelman,” slang for getaway driver. “I ran from the cops so many fucking times,” he said. But “at the end of the day, you know, I got away. I never got caught.”

He moved to Las Vegas and, at the age of 25, became an officer in the metro police. Kinch came to serve in elite detective units over 23 years in the force, hunting fugitives and helping take down gangs like the Playboy Bloods. Eventually he was assigned to what he called the “Black squad,” according to court records, tasked with investigating violent crimes where the suspect was African American. (A Las Vegas police spokesperson told me they stopped “dividing squads by a suspect’s race” a year before Kinch retired.)

this guy was neither. he's an ex-convict, antisocial person who is gay and has a deep disdain for these militia people while having a lot of matching traits. Probably the most interesting article I've read in the past 2-3 months.

So, I'm trying to find more info about the LVMPD's "Black Squads" and ended up on the same Bobby Kinch's case...I don't have details but my speculation is that he was reprimanded (very lightly) for a facebook post calling for a "cleansing" in the context of the Ferguson case and then he seems to have sued LVMPD for discrimination, but seems to have been rehired.

Still, why in the fuck have we not heard about the literally racist practices of LVMPD? Stuff like this would have required a public ritual purge of the police force.

Kinch said he doesn’t feel his comments were a mistake. He does regret not providing proper context, he said.

And to those who assume he’s a racist?

“That’s pretty retarded,” he said.

I read up on his mother's death. She went out from her assisted living facility on a wheel chair, got robbed and got a cardiovascular event and died, with the cause of death deemed to be a homicide.

More data: yeah they seem to have sued LVMPD claiming they were racially profiled. 😀
