In most cases, recommended specs will enable you to turn settings up to Medium or High and enjoy a decently high framerate while playing at 1080p or 1440p. The best gaming laptops should be able to handle this rather easily.

With that level of engagement I would not be surprised if we start hearing about marriages failing due to Starfield…
In a good marriage, spouses would take shifts to get through the game. We def' did it with Mass Effect with my wife...before we had kids though.

I’ve witnessed several long time relationship where the 2 parties are not glued to each other every evening sharing themselves. For myself, besudes casual conversation, or occasional fightsor commiserating about the struggles our son has subjected himself ocerva decade, if we can find something we both like to watch, I jump on the computer and go on an adventure like Starfield, she plays her iPad games and puzzles ir watches just another BBC garden show or murder mystery. 🙃

A friend was 265 hours into the game as of yesterday. Seems like a great game. I’m not risking it. 😅

I know marriages that didn't last that long, LOL.

So far over the last 3 weeks, I’ve spent about 24hrs on it. It’s not perfect, what game is? But it is wonderful. Note I‘m also established in a current game, with Bethesda’s Skyrim, a previous game of their’s that I played though a decade ago. And I love Falout 4 , another of their titles.

For Starfield, I want more from companions, the ability to have a conversation with them, about current in-game events, but you are stuck with the same limited conversation choices. And your companion seems oblivious about everything beyond their immediate orbit. I predict that AI will break this wide open… Instead of looking at a list of things to talk about, you will be talking to your companion via microphone. What do you think about this person? 🤔

First Steps on Luna, Earth's Moon. That's Sarah, on the left, Vasco on the right, a robotic crew member.

With Companion (on left), Sara, part of Constillation, on board the Frontier. Constellation is an organization, based on Jameson, New Atlantis, Alpha Centauri system that is hunting alien artifact. We are artifact hunting. The background story is that Earth died sometime ago due to atmospheric, environmental degradation, and the Human previously organized and headed for the stars to survive.

Crimson Ship on Moon.jpg
Crimson faction ship has landed nearby, if I approach them, they will fire on me. However, we did sneak up on them, they attacked and I got myself a new ship. 🙂

Yup, different strokes for different folks. For me, having a partner to roam the Arcades in Tokyo playing all versions of Street Fighter was sort of a dream come true.

Or being able to play Borderlands on vacation.
