I just watched one of the best games I’ve ever seen. My favorite team, the Bills, was down 25-40, and somehow came back to win 41-40 with a last-second field goal.

Bonus trivia: This was the first NFL game in 106 years of history with a final score of 41-40. Somebody coined the term Scorigami for such an occurrence.

Mrs. Veil was watching with me but decided to turn in early. The next morning I told her she missed one of the most incredible game endings I've seen in a while.

That ending, when the Bills were behind 40-38... I mean, I'm watching the game clock, and it's down to ten seconds or something, and they're rushing on the field goal unit. And I'm kind of freaking out the entire time, thinking omigod the clock is going to run out.

At five seconds the kicker gets to his chosen yard line.

At four seconds he paces off sideways to set himself up.

At three seconds he's in position and they snap the ball.

At two seconds the holder gets it and spins it while the kicker is in motion.

At one second the kicker is almost there...

And literally at .5 seconds his foot contacts the ball and it goes through.

😃 That was effing peak football!!

The MNF game last night was wild. Literally seconds left, Trevor Lawrence gets stepped on by one of own teammates while taking the snap, falls down, tries to grab the fumbled ball, stumbles trying to get up, does get up (remaining miraculously untouched in the chaos going on around him), avoids one Chiefs player's belated attempt to tackle him, and scoots into the end zone for the game winning touchdown.

That they even got that far to begin with was another small miracle, considering the time left and the penalties that cost them yardage. Hail Mary passes are far from a sure thing.

Amazing ending.

That was an ugly/lucky touchdown for sure. It reminded me of this play a couple weeks ago. The Buffalo Bills Tight End was in motion, slipped and fell, got up, ran into a defensive player, but then somehow ended up alone in the end zone and caught an underhanded throw for the touchdown…

Funniest line I’ve read all day…

You may have heard, Joe Flacco got traded to the Bengals.

And you know how fans can be cruel.

Bengals fans were like, “We’re gonna put Flacco behind our offensive line? That should be considered elder abuse”

Good Lord the Dolphins are bad!

I mean, as Browns fans we're used to bad, but we made Miami look like a kiddie team today. Interceptions, slips, dropped passes, almost-safeties, tons of penalties...

Mike McDaniel might not make it to the end of the season. The legitimate knock on the Browns was that the offense has not yet scored more than 17 points this season. Today they scored 31. And half of that was thanks to the Browns' defense constantly being on the receiving end of Tagovailoa's throws.

For about half a year, everybody talked about what a genius he was. It’s been downhill ever since.

Well it’s certainly winding up to be an interesting season. There’s so much parity in the divisions—even the bad ones—that everything’s still going to be up in the air in the final week.

The Bills came so close this afternoon. They shouldn’t have gone for two.

I’m hearing a lot of criticism of Aaron Rodgers for subpar performance. Maybe if he hadn’t been constantly looking over his shoulder for Myles Garrett…

On their previous TD, their 3rd kicker of the year (yes unlucky with injuries) kicked it low and got his extra point blocked. Not the type of thing to instill confidence in his ability.

If he made the first kick, they could have had him try a second for the win. Instead they left him on the sideline and hoped for their best player to win it. He made a rare mistake. I don’t think it was a bad choice.

Also, the game didn’t mean much in the scheme of things with the playoffs already a lock. So with a QB nursing a sore foot, overtime wasn’t looking very appealing.

As for Aaron Rodgers, he seemed more interested in stopping Myles from getting the sack record than in winning the actual game.

Wow, what a finish for Buffalo against Jacksonville. I was anticipating a nail-biter of a final minute as the Bills defense tried to keep the Jags far enough that they couldn’t attempt a field goal to tie. I didn’t expect a quick game-ending interception by Buffalo. 👍

I missed the game because I was at work… so glad they won! Next week I hope to be free to watch 🤞

Oh, man. The Bills… 😑

There was just no overcoming those fumbles and interceptions.

* Sigh. *

Oh man, you hadda feel bad for the 49ers last night. That was brutal. Almost makes you wish they had the mercy rule in pro football.

Stidham, the Denver backup, may surprise us but I doubt it.

I think whoever wins the NFC will easily win the Super Bowl. But who knows…?
