The Coffee Thread

I took the remaining bag back and dunmped what we had left.

Man that was soooo disappointing.
An entirely fitting response.

Actually, I've also dumped underwhelming coffee - inspired by the old "life is too short to drink (expletive deleted) coffee," concept, to which was also added a stern instruction (to self) not to grumble about wasted money, because wasted time, (the time it would take to finish this terrible coffee, suffering with each sip) and insulted taste buds are also a steep price to have to endure.

While enjoying my afternoon coffee (from Costa Rica, served with organic hot milk), I was also busily perusing some coffee sites.

Sad news for Sweden, consumer price for coffee is expected to rise sharply tomorrow (the wholesalers renegotiate the price every ten weeks). Likely about $2 more per pound for ground coffee.

Edit:

Coffee selling like pandemic era toilet paper.

And if memory serves, Sweden is a country where they take their coffee very very seriously.

Good news: Shelves completely restocked now, no shortage of coffee in the stores after the price increase.

Bad news: Prices did indeed increase as predicted.

Good to hear.

I suspect that for various other reasons (such as climate change) - irrespective of Mr Trump's actions and the resulting chaotic and narcissistic insanity - coffee prices would still have increased.

Yes.

The increase now boils down to lowered production combined with increased demand, most notably due to drought in Brazil and a growing market for coffee in Asia. Seems like Brazil finally got some decent rain, but the Trump instability will probably lead to more increases in the future.
