The Joys of The Grape & The Grain: Tonight's Tipple

A crate of beer (mostly Trappistes Rochefort and several bottles of St Bernardus) was delivered today.

Enjoyed a single beer this evening, a St Bernardus Abt 12, a Belgian winter classic

A glass (or three) of Riesling (Trocken) from Germany, (the Saarland, to be precise).

Trappistes Rochefort 8, served in a Trappistes Rochefort (chalice, goblet), glass.

Sipping a glass of Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, a very palatable wine from Italy.

A glass or two of Vacqueyras, an elegant and smooth red wine from France.

Trappistes Rochefort 8 - a splendid Belgian beer, perfect for this time of year - is keeping me company this wet, and cold, and dark and miserable January evening.

The grain won tonight: I am sipping (savouring, thoroughly enjoying) a glass (a Trappistes Rochefort glass, goblet, chalice, naturally) of Trappistes Rochefort 8, a splendid beer from Belgium.

Perfect winter fare.

Sipping a St Bernardus Abt 12, (in an appropriate St Bernardus glass/goblet/chalice), a rich, luscious dark beer from Belgium.

A glass of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (a most palatable red wine from Italy) is currently keeping me company.

Grape or Grain is a redundant debate this eveing, as I only have the Grape to hand.

(Memo to self: Must stock up on The Grain tomorrow).

So, which grape shall it be?
