The Oh So Competent (evil) Trump Administration

Some 20-something MAGA influencer made a laughable “gotcha” video claiming Somalians in Minnesota are stealing millions in childcare money. As a result, 45 believes this and is shutting off ALL daycare money to the state. Great, just screw over every parent in the state because the old man saw a video.

To be fair, there WAS a fraud ring involving daycare centers in Minnesota. It was broken up and the perpetrators prosecuted by the DOJ while Biden was president. There’s no indication it started back up.

 
This is awful. And just another example of Trump impulsively acting on something someone told him.

It’s been widely known since the first Tramp administration that if there are several sides to an issue, Trump will go with whoever was the last person that talked to him about it. That’s how easily this fool is influenced.

Now people are going to suffer because of it, and government officials are going to have to jump through needless hoops to help people. SMH.

Most recent is Putin's residence supposedly getting attacked by Ukraine confirmed by absolutely nobody. Putin just told him. I don't think they even attempted to false flag it or provide evidence but I haven't been closely monitoring it.

Just as absurd is none of this would have happened and continues without Putin. If anybody deserves to be attacked and removed from the earth its Putin. Nothing shocking or unreasonable about it. If some kind of WW3 scenario breaks out history needs to show it as the sole responsibility of a handful of lifetime criminal assholes who would rather see the destruction of the planet than face the possibility of being held accountable for anything ever.

On a related note and as further proof we live in ass backwards world, you know who loved scientists and funding science? Jeffery Epstein. The only things Trump will fund is monuments to himself and anything he can potentially use to grift or spread propaganda lies. Period. He doesn't care about funding science because he knows he'll be dead soon and no amount of research is going to change that. He also doesn't care about the welfare of his offspring because his dad didn't either.

Of course, cutting all daycare funds is part of Project 2025. And this YouTube nitwit met with GOP leaders in Minnesota right before making his fake gotcha video.

First off, just as the takeover of Washington DC was putatively predicated on the robbery of Big Balls there, Trump was obviously already planning this all along. It was foretold starting on page 476 of Project 2025’s Mandate for Leadership, which cites Head Start, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), childcare assistance, and anything that prevents teen pregnancy or helps low-income mothers not stay home as social ills.

Because in such programs, “Marriage, healthy family formation, and delaying sex to prevent pregnancy are virtually ignored in terms of priorities.” Any funding that is going to child care, says the Mandate, should go instead to promoting the rhythm method for birth control, and promoting women staying home. And teen pregnancy prevention, all that does is “promote sex, promote prostitution, or provide a funnel effect for abortion facilities.”

What I know about epstein, my impression is more like he bought influence through funneling a ton of money to Harvard. It also reminds me how Claudine Gay was treated, vs. the kiddy gloves epstein BFF Larry Sumner (former hvd president) has been treated with.

Shirley’s main source is a lobbyist and one-time right-wing candidate for Minnesota attorney general whose full name is David Hoch. Accounts bearing his name have a long online history posting about the Somali community in Minnesota. A TikTok and a recently deleted Instagram account posted almost exclusively on the subject — including derogatory statements about Somalis and Muslims.

The Washington National Opera has been forced out of the Kennedy Center.

This isn’t due to a political protest. It’s because the new management is clueless about running an arts organization. They are saying the performances must be “revenue neutral” which is literally impossible for opera companies. And they want all money up front which is also not feasible for the opera. So they had no choice but to leave.

Now we get an empty opera house. At least WNO will still perform and is looking for other venues. 👍

One of the strategic strengths of trumpists was the unpredictability of when they'd pull bulshit, but at this point they are extremely predictable as the answer is now: always. For example, you bet one of his talking points for their minnesota campaign will be "free universal childcare doesn't work, see?".
