The Republican Agenda 2016 forward

Not sure where else this would go, but...

Hallelujah! Someone on the other side has finally seen the light––and publicly said so.

Of course, this guy used to be in the Tea Party with all built-in irrational hate and stubbornness that that implies. However, he says he's changed.

He still claims to be a Tea Party guy in the fiscal sense. But if he's come this far...I say give him the benefit of the doubt. I like to think people can reform.
Dunno, reads like political trash recycling. He wants in. He ran against trumpo in the 2020 primary so he has no game in the GOP. He wants to oppose trump, support Dems. Cool. But don't we have like new, "unused" people without a tea party track record to leverage?

F- ing mtgreene!

Suuuuuuurrrreeee she would have voted 'no'. If you believe that, there's a bridge in brooklyn that just came up for sale and I-

💯 🤣🤣🤣

This is what happens when you elect the loudmouth kids that never did their homework.

I remember as a kid, I didn't understand why they didn't give the class president job to the person with the best grades. Instead, it was a kid barely getting by, and was essentially a popularity contest. I realize now they were just preparing me for real life. 🤔

I hope he changed while still retaining enough popularity to get elected.

My personal bias is that once a grifter, always a grifter though...

Is corruption part of the agenda? Feels like it’s becoming that way.

"It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from Congress," Green said in a press release. "Recently, I was offered an opportunity in the private sector that was too exciting to pass up." Despite his new job with an undisclosed employer, Green said that he will remain in Congress until "the House votes once again on the reconciliation package."

Legal ethics experts told Popular Information that the situation is "unprecedented" and presents a minefield of ethical issues.
Right! Once you’ve accepted the job, you are done in Congress. However, considering the industrial-scale corruption in and around the White House, Mr. Green probably thinks nobody will worry about him.

Republicans have removed the option for LGBTQ+ people to get specialized help from the National suicide hotline.

The Trump administration will shut down the national LGBTQ youth suicide lifeline in 30 days.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announced Tuesday that the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline will no longer use its LGBTQ youth services, also known as the “Press 3 option,” effective July 17.

When asked for comment, the Republicans replied:

The mega-bill just passed by the Senate will end the ACA.

An expert I heard on NPR today called it a back-door repeal.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that, taken together, these changes will result in 16 millionmore uninsured people in the year 2034 than would otherwise be the case, including:

  • 7.8 million more uninsured resulting from Medicaid changes in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA)
  • 3.1 million more uninsured from OBBBA provisions affecting the ACA Marketplaces
  • 900 thousand more uninsured from codifying the recent Trump Administration proposed rule on the ACA Marketplaces. This accounts for only half the effect of the proposed rule; the remaining 900 thousand people becoming uninsured are included in the effects of ACA provisions in the reconciliation package.
  • 4.2 million more uninsured with the expiration of the enhanced premium tax credits, relative to an estimate of a permanent extension of those credits
When this many people are uninsured, hospitals lose billions. Expected losses are over $350 billion. Lisa (Crocodile tears) Murkowski got a provision in there to give 1/7th of that amount in payments to rural hospitals to supposedly keep them going. It won’t be enough, even for her supposedly beloved Alaska.

And healthcare costs will go up for us all when there are more uninsured people,

The big pitiful bill wipes out $500 billion in tax credits for renewable energy in the USA. So much for bringing back manufacturing in the US. Meanwhile, in China…

The price for big battery storage modules have hit a new record low in the latest giant auction in China, where more than 70 bidders competed for 25 gigawatt hours of capacity in what is being described as a “watershed moment” for the industry.
The knockout price was a bid of $US51.59/kWh for a four hour battery (the average was $US59/kWh), which Energy Storage News says represents a 30 per cent drop from 2024 levels, and others side was a 15 per cent fall from recent record lows.

Solar Industry Says Senate Plan Would Cede Production to China

But now solar manufacturers fear that the Republican policy bill, which is still working its way through Congress after the Senate passed it on Tuesday, would end the nascent revival and hand China virtually complete control of solar panel production.

“This is going to put people out of business,” said Mike Carr, the executive director of Solar Energy Manufacturers for America, which represents more than 15 companies and 6,100 manufacturing workers. “This is going to devastate the industry.”

Forget making Canada the 51st stare. At this rate of economic collapse, states will be rushing to become part of Mexico or Canada.

Pain is the key to breaking Reverse-MAGA and this is so ironic.

Scooped from today’s (my) interpreted news:
GOzP Holdouts fall in line agreeing to hold vote on the Big Beautiful Self Mutilation bill
Hidden in the massive bomb is a provision to declare “Pain” the official song of the Party to be played at the start of every meeting of the Trump Reich requiring loyal members to stand, dance, and sing fervently. 😐

The mega-bill just passed by the Senate will end the ACA.

The most dishonest part of the health care cuts in the new legislation lies in moving the Medicare cuts out to past the midterm elections, so the GOP incumbents in red districts can call the Dems liars when the Ds run ads on what the Rs "have done" to healthcare via 2025 votes in Congress. 😡🤬🤬
